Robert Talbott came into being in 1950 when Robert and Audrey arrived in Carmel from a successful life in New York City and Connecticut. Bringing with them a sense of Eastern Tradition and an innate understanding of the extraordinary power of quality.

Today the "piece de la resistance" is the Seven Fold tie which is billed as the world's most exclusive tie. The Seven Fold is made by hand from seven layers of silk folded in on itself so that no seams can be seen and there is no extraneous lining. This is a throwback to when tiemakers didn't line their ties with polyester, cotton or wool to cut costs. The Seven Fold ties are created to drape fluidly and hang straight. Only 40 are ever made in a design.
