Our silk weavers and tie makers moved from Spitalfields after the Spitalfields Act of 1774 fixed wage rates in London and abolished the tariffs on imported silks, thus establishing a thriving silk trade around Sudbury in Suffolk. The company is now owned by its managers and employees, all craftsmen and experts in their trade. Their archives are prodigious and after near to 300 years there are few designs that haven’t been seen before, or so you’d imagine. Their exclusive ‘350 end’ quality (350 double twisted threads per inch) is extraordinary and unsurpassed anywhere in the world.   Shop Ties


Their silks are ‘pure dye’, meaning no artificial additives are used in the weft or warp yarns. Henry Bucks browses through the archives and re-colours traditional designs as well as working on new ideas with the designers.
